5 Frequently Asked Questions

If you want top-quality Brother toner cartridges, but don’t want to pay exorbitant prices, you’ve come to the right place. Premium Toners offers the highest quality toner cartridges at prices as much as 50% lower than the original manufacturer. If you have some questions about our toner cartridges, read on and you may find that your questions are answered below.

Do I Need Brother Ink or Toner Cartridges?

In general, there are two types of printers that you find in homes and offices – inkjet and laser printers. If you have an inkjet printer, you will need to buy replacement printer ink cartridges. If you have a laser printer, you will need to purchase replacement toner cartridges. Many people use the words toner and ink interchangeably, but they are not the same product at all, and these two types of printers each has a unique printing process.

Do I Need Genuine Brother Toner Cartridges?

This is a common question, and it’s important to understand that consumers have several options when selecting their toner cartridges. You can purchase Original Manufacturer toner cartridges directly from Brother or an authorized OEM seller. You also could purchase refurbished or remanufactured toner cartridges or new generic toner cartridges.

A remanufactured toner cartridge is a printer cartridge that has been used before and these cartridges are fully refurbished before new toner is added. New generic toner cartridges are built to OEM specs by a third party and not the original manufacturer. These latter two options can be good choices because these can be up to 50% less expensive than official Brother toner cartridges.

Remanufactured toner cartridges can be a good option, but you do need to ascertain whether or not the cartridges are IP-compliant. This ensures that the cartridges will work flawlessly in your laser printers, just as well as a brand-new OEM toner cartridge. At Premium Toners, we sell IP-compliant remanufactured cartridges which come with a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

At Premium Toners, we also sell new generic compatible versions of Brother toner cartridges and other top brands. Our aftermarket toner cartridges are far less expensive than OEM toner cartridges, but they feature the same high quality and also come with our 100% satisfaction guarantee. If your cartridge doesn’t work perfectly, we will refund your money. It’s as simple as that.

Our aftermarket toner cartridges also are now made with 100% recycled plastics, which makes them a much greener choice than a new OEM model. With Premium Toners, you can save a ton of money and help save the planet at the same time.

How Do I Find The Correct Toner Cartridges?

We make it as easy as possible for customers to find their specific toner cartridges. The first step is to make a note of the exact model of printer you own. Even missing the model number by a single digit can result in purchasing the wrong toner cartridges.

You also should open up the laser printer and make a note of the model numbers for each of your toner cartridges. If you have a black and white printer, this will be a quick process. If you have a full-color Brother printer, be sure to make a note of all four of the color toner cartridge numbers – black, yellow, cyan and magenta.

Once you have the model number and cartridge number(s), you can enter either the printer model number or the cartridge numbers and this should produce the desired results. You can click on the Brother tab on our home page and search using several different options, from an alphabetically listing to high or low price, etc.

Should I Purchase Regular Or High-Yield Toner Cartridges?

Typically, toner cartridges are available in two options –regular size and an extra-large size, which has a greater page yield. These extra-large or high-yield toner cartridges will provide you with roughly double the number of printed pages as the regular-yield toner cartridges.

If you print fairly often, it can be a good option to purchase these high-yield cartridges because while they might have a higher price tag, the overall cost to print each page will be a little less expensive.

However, if you don’t print a ton of pages, a smaller toner cartridge might be fine. The toner in these cartridges typically is good for about two years, and then you may notice a decrease in print quality, so if you won’t be printing a ton, it might be best to opt for a regular toner cartridge.

Do You Sell TAA-Compliant Toner Cartridges?

TAA stands for Trade Agreements Act and a TAA-compliant toner is guaranteed to either be produced by a company in the United States or in a country that is included in the Trade Agreements Act (there are more than 100 countries included in this list).  If you are working with any U.S. government agency, such as the General Services Administration, we can match you with TAA-compliant toner cartridges, so just give us a call at (514) 993-4142 and we will help you with the ordering process.
