How to Reset Brother TN660 Toner Counter or Error

Brother Multifunction Printer (DCP series)
If you have a Brother (DCP series) machine and just replaced your TN660 printer cartridge, you can reset your toner cartridge counter manually by following the instructions below for the following Brother printers.
Brother DCP-L2520 printer Brother DCP-L2520dw printer
Brother DCP-L2540 printer Brother DCP-L2540dw printer
- Power your printer on
- Open front door
- Press and hold OK button for a few seconds
- Press the START button once
- Quickly press + button once then press - button once
- Then press OK button
- Your TN660 toner is now reset
- Close front door
- Your Brother printer should be ready to print
Brother Printer (HL series)
If you have a Brother (HL series) machine and just replaced your TN660 printer cartridge, you can reset your toner cartridge counter manually by following the instructions below for the following Brother printers.

- With power on open the front cover
- Turn off the printer
- Hold the GO button for 3 seconds while turning on the printer
- The screen will display “USER MODE”
- Press the GO button 9 times
- Wifi led light will flash once
- Press the GO button 5 times
- The TN660 toner counter is now reset
- Close the front cover
- Printer should be ready to print

- Turn the power on
- Open the front door
- Press and hold the # button for 5 seconds
- Toner menu will appear on screen
- Select “TNR-HC”
- Select YES to reset toner TN660
- Close the brother printer door
- Your printer should be ready to print
